    Can anyone help out with this?

    I have tried so many things but pages are just not caching until I click on them.

    I have around 150 top level pages, and I click them to make sure they are cached. About 30 minutes later I click again and they are not cached again. Garbage collection is set for a day and reload is set to an hour. I have had to set it back to 10 seconds to make sure cached pages always load, but that slows my server down.

    Another one with the same issue. It would be ok if CF7 didn’t force you to use these useless pieces of s.h.1.t

    I was using Updraft Backup for WordPress or something like that. This was taking up almost half of the entire website space. I got rid of it as it was only installed because I was worried about the caching screwing up.

    I’m trying to put it back to advanced, but having no joy. THe option just doesn’t seem to be there.

    The site is still slow when a page isn’t cached.

    Do you think it could be the fact that it’s a Windows Server? That’s what the server company are saying.

    Completely uninstalled, still no luck.

    Actually, some pages were slow to begin with but don’t seem too bad now.

    Currently they are.

    I have done what you said. It’s gone slow again.

    Done that. It’s now serving day old caches of the pages, which isn’t terrible because I haven’t added to the site since yesterday.

    Some pages aren’t loading at all still. Like the post pages. This, once again isn’t the worst thing in the world, because it’s something I’m focusing on once the whole site is better.

    Take a look at your .htaccess file and make sure that you’ve not ‘doubled up’ on anything. In other words, W3TC automatically alters .htaccess (so long as permissions are correctly set) according to what is and is not ticked in the plugin’s UI (the dashboard); if you’ve gotten into .htaccess manually and altered something, there may be vestiges causing a conflict. This could — potentially — explain a lot, actually.

    I don’t have a HTACCESS file. We are on a Windows server.

    I unchecked the CDN option.

    Did you clear all caches after doing so? (I’m still seeing “Content Delivery Network via N/A” at the bottom of the site’s source.) If not, do so and see if anything improves.

    I have now done this and the site is not loading at all. I’ve had to disable the plugin and the site is running painfully slow for anyone who accesses it.

    “It” being the W3TC plugin?

    No, a few of the testing sites out there.

    Thread Starter mrkidd1985

    (@mrkidd1985)

    Thanks. Browser cache and Gzip caching were both ticked anyway. But I unchecked the CDN option.

    Try those, see what happens. To be frank, though, that’s really just the beginning as the site is for all intents and purposes entirely unoptimized for performance.

    Is there any way in which you can elaborate on this? The history behind it is that I’m basically in charge of the SEO here. Obviously performance is massively vital, but I’m not a developer, so I’m not sure how to fix the issues.

    It’s been recommended that I use GZip compression, but I don’t know how to do that. It states that Gzip is working on cached pages, but users aren’t getting the cached pages a lot of the time. I’ve tried enabling it on our IIS server, but this hasn’t changed anything.

    Oh, but this isn’t my site, and therefore not my Thesis Theme – therefore I don’t have a login to the Thesis forums.

    It’s an absolute joke that they sell you a theme with validation erros in my opinion.

    But as before there is no way I can find out where to change these errors because I don’t know where they are located .

    They’re not in index.php which is where I’d have thought they would all be as it’s the homepage. When I look at page source, I see loads of html, but when I open index.php I don’t see anything.

    Why is this?

    Thread Starter mrkidd1985

    (@mrkidd1985)

    I found out from someone slightly more helpful that I have to change this bit of code on the homepage –

    <div id="column_wrap">
    <div id="content" class="hfeed">
    <div class="post-107 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-shopping tag-compare-prices tag-comparison-sites tag-money-savings tag-online-shopping tag-shopping-comparison-sites post_box top" id="post-107">
    <div class="post-104 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-shopping tag-compare-prices tag-comparison-sites tag-money-savings tag-online-shopping tag-shopping-comparison-sites post_box" id="post-104">
    <div id="sidebar_1" class="sidebar">
    </div>

    I have no idea where I can find this as I’m not good at PHP and kind of a beginner to WordPress.

    Can anyone be kind enough to let me know where I can find this? And I’m not asking for any unhelpful answers like Esmi’s

    Thread Starter mrkidd1985

    (@mrkidd1985)

    All I need to know is where the html is located. Stop being so difficult.

    Thread Starter mrkidd1985

    (@mrkidd1985)

    I’d hsve thought someone would be able to help on here. As it’s a support forum, I don’t think that’s being too out there.
