    Tobias,

    I ran some tests today on an empty test server and can report on what I encountered with free version of the TablePress plugin.

    I reset the server (Reset WP Plugin), installed the TablePress plugin and selected the opt in during setup. I then used Better Search Replace to change the server URL in the database (again site/home URLs are hardwritten in wp-config).

    The first replace caused no issue. When I did a second search/replace to revert the URL back, the Freemius dialog box I reported above showed up and would not leave until I chose one of the three options. Subsequently any change of the home/site values in the DB caught me on the same dialog box.

    Opting Out did not remove the behavior. ‘Uninstalling’ with the nuclear button on the Plugin Options page did not reset this either. When I reinstalled the plugin, I got the dialog after a search/replace again.

    I then reset the test site again, installed TablePress and used the ‘Skip’ option at setup and was able to change the URL to any ridiculous value I chose, repeatedly, without setting off the licensing dialogue.

    So, I have a workaround now and hopefully this is enough info for you to reproduce the situation. But if you need more sensitive info I can still respond on the site email if needed.

    Thanks again.

    Thank you Tobias, I’m heading out now on Friday. I will try the contact email come next week. Have a good day.

    Sure, here is the text with sites obfuscated. mySQL went from 5.7 to 8.4 while reporting this, but the same error is occurring when I activate BLC.

    I have found if I update the widgets in the Customizer rather than the Widget panel, I get not errors and the updates go through fine.

    I also tried all plugins turned off except BLC and had the same error. Good luck, you provide a nice product.

    Nithin,

    The site is running PHP 8.2.13. Our mySQL was 5.7 (We’re upgrading to 8.4.1 this week)

    Thanks,

    (@msarns)

    Nithin,

    I generated the debug log and it generated several instances of this one line referring to broken link checker. That is pasted below. Site name obfuscated.

    [23-Jul-2024 17:05:04 UTC] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘array’ (T_ARRAY), expecting function (T_FUNCTION) or const (T_CONST) in C:\Shares\websites\dev.xxxxx.xxx.edu\wp-content\plugins\broken-link-checker\core\external\hub-connector\inc\class-admin.php on line 39

    We’re using Windows server 2019.

    I hope that is helpful.

    Thanks,

    Nevermind, I was reporting a similar problem, but I tried your plugin on a test server and it worked, so this is edited to reflect my discovery.

    Great plugin, sorry to bother you, but there’s no delete. Thanks much.

    Pedro,

    That looks like it solved the issues. I ran several consecutive replacements of a PNG on our testserver, got no error messages, and content updated each time. Tried it with a PDF and it worked fine as well. Deleted items are removed correctly from the uploads folder. Looks fixed.

    I will try it on our live site later today.

    Thanks,

    Nice boilerplate from Marketing WPChef. I have the same evaluation of your behavior as Jaakko. Your response has motivated me to start looking for a replacement plugin that is not driven by the contempt and greed you exhibit. Brilliant idea to cause grief for webmasters. Good day.

    Thanks, giving up on getting the variable from the context and the options that were set up and instead putting the value in directly in the file got it to display. There’s only one form in the whole site setup, so that was probably some unnecessary elegance. I’ve cut the function call and there are now no errors.

    Works. Thanks.

    Thread Starter msarns

    (@msarns)

    Okay, Replacing the only instance:

    $context[‘ninja_forms_display_form’] = TimberHelper::function_wrapper( ‘ninja_forms_display_form’ );

    with

    $context[‘ninja_forms_display_form’] = TimberHelper::{{ function(‘ninja_forms_display_form’) }};

    Yields:

    ‘Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘{‘ in C:\Shares\…\page.php on line 84’

    So very simple, except it does not work. I’ve been trying variations on this for another 2 hours because you said it would work. Checking the link to Function Guide I see the example for how to add a function to the ‘context’ is:

    $context[‘my_custom_function’] = new FunctionWrapper( ‘my_custom_function’, $array_of_arguments );

    Which is exactly what I’ve got, which is throwing the error.

    Brook, no soap on removing the ‘comment’ folder. No noticeable differences.

    While I was on a dev site and could be exhaustive, I first tried just updating the TEC and not the Pro plugins. No difference either.

    As soon as I deleted the 4.4 folder and replaced it with 4.3.5 the site returned on the first load, front and back.

    The very first error after updating to 4.4 was this:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method Tribe__Events__Featured_Events__Query_Helper::add() in `\wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\common\src\Tribe\Main.php on line 237

    Then it went back to the Tribe__Settings_Manager error. While on 4.4, repeated reloads in the Admin side occasionally returned this different error:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 209715200 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65488 bytes) in ~\wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\common\vendor\lucatume\di52\src\tad\DI52\Bindings\Resolver.php on line 119

    Checking the front side immediately following that error would get this error on the first subsequent reload:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method Tribe__Events__Front_Page_View::add() in ~\wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\common\src\Tribe\Main.php on line 237

    After that, reloads returned to the Tribe__Settings_Manager error noted above. No idea if any of this will be of any significance, just all the empirical info I got.

    Thanks,
