Sorry, that didn’t work either. Same results on all accounts. I appreciate your thoughts and ideas. Hopefully, we can come up with something in the future. For now, it is just a minor inconvenience and causing any real issues for me or my clients, so I’m going to put it on the back burner unless someone else has some ideas.

No,, that line does not exist in my wp-config.php file on any site.

I agree, this is very strange.

If I deactivate the plugins, they do not show on the updates page as needing an update, even though they show on the plugin page as needing an update. Can’t test the checkbox if they are not on the plugin page.

I used Gravity Forms to get a plugin that would need an update since Akismet is up-to-date in the 4.4.2 install. Deactivated Gravity Forms and tried SlideDeck 3 and same issue.

The fresh install got rid of the wp_widget error and nothing is showing as an error in debugging mode, but still have the checkmark problem.

No go on the fresh install with latest files. Here is a screenshot:

    I will keep trying.

Whenever I upload the files for WP, Akismet always wants an immediate update. It is only a single plugin, but the check all will not even check the one plugin. I have to check the box next to the plugin to get it to work. Interestingly enough, the check all checkbox gets checked when all the plugins are checked. Also, it does let me put a checkmark in the select all, but does not check any plugins. It is also not a visual error, as it does not update any plugins if I only have the check all checked and no plugins checked. I will look at the topic you sent. I also did mention that I tried a shared hosting account with GoDaddy and got the same problem, so it really can’t be a server configuration. I may also try downloading a fresh copy of WP files and try that to make sure it is not a bug in the version I have stored on my computer (4.4.0) that was maybe figured out in later versions but is not getting fixed in the upgrade process.

    James,

I appreciate the response. I am an experienced web designer (300+ sites) and IT professional and have gone through everything you mentioned already. I use 6 different computers and have tested them all with the latest versions of IE11, Edge, Chrome, Safari and Firefox and have the same issue on all of the computers and in all the browsers. I have also tried using IE with add-ons disabled. This checkbox issue also happens on all my websites and all of them are running 4.4.2, many of them on the Genesis Framework, but not all of them. I have even tried a fresh installation of WP with no plugins or content or modifications and using TwentySixteen. Nothing fixes the problem. I run my own dedicated server with cPanel & WHM (54.0 build 12) on centos 7 with a modified CloudLinux kernel. Everything is up to date on the server. I tried a shared hosting account with GoDaddy and got the same issue there as well. I think I’ve pretty much exhausted a troubleshooting list and would assume it is a WP issue. I can check “check all” checkboxes anywhere else on the same sites without problems, even on the same page when there are themes to update. It only happens on the plugin list of updates.
