Thank you for the fast replay; sorry for my late response – I had thought I would be getting an email notification. Anyway, your advice put me in the right direction and I believe I have resolved the issue. The problem seems to be Bitdefender antivirus which is installed on both of my computers. This also explains why I can log in on Linux, but not on Windows 10. Deactivating Protection Shield has allowed me to log in, so it seems I need to create an exception.
