Is a regular expression for matching youtube.com and vimeo.com. The pipe means OR and the backslash is to treat the period as a literal period. Without the backslash to escape it, the period is interpreted as any character so it would also match youtube1com.
The code isn’t obfuscated and it looks pretty straightforward to me. What’s the reasoning behind your allegation that is collects data?
