  • Hi,

Have you found anything regarding this issue?

I have the same issue with my pdf eBook. I have been updating the eBook Store plugin until I am currently at 5.12 and I noticed now that everything with the encryption seems to be resolved (yay!), now all the internal links that navigate around my book are no longer there either, they are all “dead.”

All the websites and emails in the pdf eBook work fine. Its things like the internal links for page cross-references, chapters, text imbedded with hyperlinks and icons imbedded with hyperlinks (such as Facebook and Twitter) that are no longer click-able.

Thank you for your kind attention.

    Hello,

I uploaded my eBook again to see if somehow, idiosyncratically, it would cause the internal links to return to being live. Unfortunately, those page cross-references and the like in my interactive pdf remain non-interactive, “dead.”

I am not sure what might be happening in the encryption process that negates these. There are hundreds of weblinks in my interactive pdf that remain live. But all the page, chapter, cross references and links that are imbedded in text and videos no longer open.

    Greetings,

I am happy to say at last version 5.12 has fixed the problem with the water marking in my interactive pdf eBook (I have diligently updated the plug-in as each new version comes available, and 5.12 seemed to do it).

However, now all the internal cross references and links no longer work in the pdf eBook. They did in earlier versions, without watermarking. The weblinks and emails in the document all seem to work, but chapters, page references, and “return to table of contents” links, for examples, are all “dead.”

I will attempt to upload my pdf again to see if this somehow refreshes those functions and let you know…

    Hi again,

Moments later, I contacted my host about this (Hostmonster). I purchased my eBook during our chat as a test, and my host is seeing the php process was actually active the whole time.

While they were looking at the server they saw the php process open when the download started and the process end when the download finished. Which version of php the server needs to be used?. We have 5.2, 5.4 and 5.6 available here. We were using 5.2 and he upgraded it to 5.4…so we tested again with 5.4. But we got the same result, unencrypted eBook, PHP process open the whole time…

Unless you can find a more specific error as to why the encryption process is not starting that’s all I have right now : (

    Best!

    Hi,

Thanks for posting these three points.

I know that we have worked together to make sure my pdf is not newer than 1.5
I’ve quadruple-checked and my pdf is indeed version 1.5

I also worked with you before to be sure that there is no other master password for editing, so that is not an issue.

Regarding # 3, that my hosting provider is killing the PHP process, I checked my process manager and there are only about 4 processes running at a time. They claim that it would need to be more like 20 processes running at a time for stalling to occur. I would certainly consider moving my site to your hosting services, but before I do, is there a specific question I need to ask my host to inquire about this issue, or a specific test I can do to rule out #3? Please accuse my ignorance, I simply don’t know how to speak knowledgeably to this issue.

    As always, thank you!

Yes, I have this problem. And I notice that discrepancy too in the order form code. If I use one it works, if I use the other, no form appears. Can’t remember which is which at the moment.

I purchased eBook plug in back in March 20015. Only in the very beginning did the water marking work. I haven’t been able to get the watermarking to work since. It does limit the number of downloads, but when customers buy my eBook, they either can’t get the download page to stop refreshing (and write to say, “Where’s my eBook”), or as of the past weeks, my eBook download comes without any DRM.

I keep updating with each fix and hope the plugin will work again with full DRM.

    Very nice, thank you.

P.S. I also notice that you seem to have sent me version 3.4, as the plugins dash is telling me,

“There is a new version of eBook store available. View version 3.6 details or update now.”

Thank you for sending a new copy. I’ve deleted the old plug in file, uploaded the new zip you sent (via the Worpress 4.1.1 install utility), and tried again.

Unfortunately, the same thing seems to be happening, only instead of the error message ending with “on line 118” the error message ends with “on line 114”

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home1/dayemine/public_html/sustainablelivingguide/wp-content/plugins/ebook-store/ebook_store.php on line 114
