I am finding WF seems to be generating a huge amount of CRON tasks dragging the site down.

I too find the new linking method clumsy and more work.

I can use a plugin to force all links to open in a new tab. But, that seems like overkill and has its own problems.

Then to add insult to annoyance, the pop up URL editing window persists until I reload the page.

    I’m not a happy camper.

I’ve seen the reports about Go Daddy and a plug-in they are supposed to be adding to their WP sites. I’ve looked through the code and hosted files for it. I don’t have it. And I download my WP updates from WP.

I talk with GD each time I am certain I have eliminated one of their suggestions. I usually deal with level 2 support. I hate to leave GD because they have done well in the past. Plus I have a number of sites and client sites there.

But, I may test another host…

After days of testing I am still getting connection lost errors.

Memory use still hits 100%. With 1024mb of memory now the time at 100% is much less. Usually just hitting 100% for a few seconds.

Checking PHP processes via cPanel and SSH I find processes seldom run for more than 5 minutes. Prior to adding more memory some processes were running for 30 to 45 minutes.

I’ve changed to the 2015 WP Theme. That seemed to help, but did not eliminate 100% memory use or lost connection errors.

I’ve been going through plugins looking for a bad one. Jetpack is still the largest consumer of resources.

Next step is to kill all plug-ins, which cripples the site, but I see no other way to eliminate plugins.

I am seeing more posts about the lost connection error. It is really painful. And I have established it is not related to when the system is at 100% memory use. I’ve received ‘lost connection’ with memory at 25% and CPU use at 10%…

    UPDATE:
After talking with Go Daddy we fond my problem. I’ve been increasing traffic through the blog. My memory use was getting high and hitting level 1 memory limits (512k).

You can see the metrics of your site in the cpanel. In the left column are the basic numbers. Scroll down to the Metrics section of the right side area. Look for CPU and Concurrent Connection Usage. On the next page look for the Details link to see what is going on with your part of the shared server.

    Good luck.

Now I need to find out if something is eating up memory, or if it is just user demand.

I have the same Go Daddy set up for my WP blog, just one.

I also find the Admin pages slow to load. There is a 10 to 15 second delay then they load quickly. Very annoying.

Otherwise I am having the same lost connection problems. I moved off a Windows ASP web server I had been using for other projects. The Linux servers were supposed to fix the problems I was having. I had to upgrade to their top shared servers because the lower level was just too slow. The next step now would be dedicated servers. That isn’t going to happen. I’ll move off Go Daddy to better shared hosting if they can’t fix it.

I will be getting to support today and pointing them at this thread.

I tried linking to the image and it didn’t work with my WP 3.5

I just updated to Jetpack 2. Now I too have readers telling me they are getting emails about old posts.

I’ve run into the problem of the Awaiting notice not showing too. I require all posts to be moderated before showing. So, I’m not surprised. But, I have not figured out where the code is or how the posting is handled so people know their post is waiting on me.

People post 2 or 3 times thinking their post has not been entered.

I made a mistake… this plugin uses only the views it counts. So, it seems popularity starts counting from the time you install it.

For a blog that has run for some time, which has just installed it, the results are misleading.

I think the promo material is incomplete and should mention how it counts views.

I see no way to remove my vote for broken. It isn’t. It works with my 3.4.2 version and custom theme.

I have the problem. Using UTC-8 works and the stats work correctly. Changing to Los Angeles breaks the stats. They are off by 8 hours.

Changing back and forth made no difference. Changing from LA to UTC works. Changing from UTC to LA returns the problem. :/

In reply to: Jetpack Stats not working

I have 3.2.1 and Jetpack 1.2.2 – Vista 32 Chrome and hosted on GoDaddy.

I installed Jetpack 2 may be 3 weeks ago. It worked for a week or so. For the last week it says: We were unable to get your stats just now. Please try again.

It fails on the dashboard and Site Stats. It fails in Chrome and Firefox.

    I’ve deactivated, reactivated… no luck.

I too am having the problem.

I’m on 3.2.1 and Jetpack 1.2.2 and hosted at GoDaddy. Win Vista 32 and Chrome (auto-updating).

A couple of weeks ago I upgraded to Jetpack Stats. I had a password problem. Changing the password got that fixed. Things worked fine for a week or so. Now for about a week I’ve gotten the error We were unable to get your stats just now. Please try again.

The error comes up pretty quickly on the main admin dashboard page. Going to Jetpack->Site Stats never gives an error or shows the stats. The ‘W’ in progress graphics shows for as long as I’ll let it run.

    Help…

I get trapped in a login loop when I try to authorize HL Twitter to access my twitter account. The WP login shows and seems to accept my password, which I have checked is correct, but loops back to the login and never returns to the HL Twitter admin page.
