Still no luck with this one. The PHP error log says the same:

It generates this error every time wp_rand() is called. Strange.
Hm okay, I shall doublecheck that all files are in place.
Btw, it is a local development host running on Ubuntu 8.10 server with the LAMP packages installed. Perhaps it is a PHP/Apache configuration issue?
