Yeah, that would also work. But I was looking for a dynamic solution since this is a theme I am building for distribution.

depth=1 would hide all the child pages (which is not what I want). I have drop-down menus and so I need the child pages shown.
The goal is to limit the number of top level pages (i.e. 5) so that it can’t break the layout, but without affecting the child pages that show up in the drop down menu.
Any ideas?
