Thanks! I’ve made a new one for demo purposes (and managed to capture the actions on video from where I started, display the finished (and working Read More button!), as well as returning to the editing mode where the text in the previous step was inserted into the Shortcodes box is now missing. I now have to copy and update the same text back into the box. The next time I edit the page, the same thing is going to happen . I’m a trained musician (with no training in web design and a limited knowledge of computer code) had to teach myself in order to design a webpage in WordPress for our non-profit organization. In a search for a solution for some fairly long sections of text on a page, I came across the Read More plugin that seems to be a perfect solution for what I needed. I manage to create my first page and it works perfectly (https://eisteddfod.co.za/young-performer-awards-page1/). However I discovered that after editing, adding and saving additional “Read More” text to the same page, all the Read more content that I had added on the same page had disappeared. So when I opened the page again, all the Read More buttons were still there, but when I clicked the button only the “Read Less” text was displayed – all the inserted text in the shortcode box had disappeared. After having the same experience 3 , 4 times in row in an attempt to discover what I was doing wrong, I added the info for the last time and decided to leave the page as is until I can find out what is the cause. I am currently using the Alante Pro theme in WordPress for this purpose. I don’t know what I am doing wrong and will seriously appreciate some help.
