In reply to: Layout questionI posted the original message but I made a typo on my login name =\
That’s what I suspected, but I was holding out hope that this wouldn’t require me to get learned in PHP =(Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Upgrading from .72 to 1.2Go me!
I got it upgraded to 1.2 just fine and now all I have is some little fine tuning. However, after working two jobs today, I’m tired and I’ll finish tomorrow.
For anyone curious, here’s my site: http://www.deguia.net/Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Upgrading from .72 to 1.2Never mind, I just found the phpMyAdmin on my server :: hangs head in shame ::
it’s all backed up and ready for the real damage to start. Thanks!Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Upgrading from .72 to 1.2I started to install it but there’s no menu.txt file that came with my WP .72

In reply to: Picture do not showThis, obviously, won’t explain the cause of the problem but have any of you simply tried using FTP to put the images on the server? As opposed to using some sort of integrated upload mechanism?
I use FTP for everything (except posting blog posts) and I’ve never had a problem. You can get a good free FTP client from cnet.com
Just my two cents worth.
Good luck!Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Semi-Transparent backgroundsNuclearMoos: That makes WAY too much sense! What would be the fun in that? =P
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Semi-Transparent backgroundsI think I’m confused. It says Safari allegedly needs -khtml-opacity but does not show what the attribute is (i.e.: .5 or (opacity=50) ) needs to be. And I don’t know what exactly to put for IE. It says I need to specify a height or width by WHERE do I specify it? I’m hoping width: auto; will work since that’s what it’s set at in my CSS =P
Thanks for your help with this! I think this is something I’ll have to play around with.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Semi-Transparent backgroundsThanks! I’ll check that out. I have a nasty little habbit of forgetting that not everyone uses Mozilla browsers and once I get it to look good in Firebird/Firefox/lets-all-play-with-matches I leave it at that. I’m trying to get my site a) compatible across the board and b) tweaking it to adjust to changes in browsers and such.

In reply to: Upgrade from 0.72 to 1.0That’s an excellent point except that I’m a sissy =)
I’ll probably attempt the upgrade this weekend when I can justify staying awake all night going “OH NO! WHERE DID MY SITE GO!” completely forgetting about my backups.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Upgrade from 0.72 to 1.0AH! After reading this thread I think I’m afraid to try to upgrade from .72 =(

In reply to: changing urls?I gotta say, these support forums kick arse! Yet another reason why I switched from MT to WordPress. I was just about to post this same problem and it was already answered! I posed a question 3 weeks ago to the moveable type “Support Forums” and have yet to hear anything other than “That sucks”.
Thanks!Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Initial login troublesWhoa! that’s insane that one blank line would cause that much hassel. Thanks! I edited wp-config.php and took out that new line and reuploaded it and it works now. Thanks!
