    Sunday —

    I can’t thank you enough.

Okay, it is definitely something in my import data.

    I took the following steps:

    1. I installed a brand new wordpress installation
    2. I successfully added posts
    3. I installed the classic editor
    4. I successfully added posts
    5. I imported my data
    6. At that point the problem reappeared, with the weird permalink and the Update button that shoud be a Publish button.

    Sunday –

Thanks again. I’m very grateful for your assistance.

The .htaccess change didn’t alter the behavior at all. Alas.

I repaired the database, then optimized it, and that didn’t change behavior.

I enabled debug mode, and it gave me no debug information. I tried multiple browsers and deleted the caches, but no debug information would appear. Try as I might, I couldn’t get debug information to show.

    This is very weird.

Thanks again for your help. I’m very grateful.

… and now the Publish button appears when I Add New Post, but the error shows up when I enter data and press Publish.

    THe mystery deepends.

I changed the Category of the new post, and then hit the Preview button, and it said “Page not found”.

I changed the Category back to the Original one (Uncategorized) and now when I hit the preview button I get a page that says nothing but:

A post type mismatch has been detected.

The URL that gives this is: https://codingindelphi.com/blog/wp-admin/post.php

    Weird!

    Thanks again.

    Okay, some progress.

I installed the Classic Editor, and the old post doesn’t show up in the new post editor.

    But….

The blue button on the far right says “Update” instead of “Publish, and if I press the “Preview Button”, I see the old post.

In addition, the permalink is a link to the old post, and I don’t have the opportunity to edit the permalink.

I changed the title and the body text and pressed the Update button, and it did indeed update the post.

    But…. 🙂

Now, if go to the Add New Post screen, and press the Preview button, I see my new text from the update that I did above. (The permalink has stayed the same.

I changed the way my permalinks worked from Plain to Numeric, but that dreaded ID still showed up in the permalink when I did “Add New Post”. (The really large one — )

It appears to be really stuck on that ID for some reason. Could that number be stored in my database somewhere? I looked for it in the wp_options table, but couldn’t find it.

    Thanks again.

First, thanks for your reply. I was beginning to feel alone in the wilderness. 😉

    1. Here’s the output on the console for the weird page:

    [DOM] Found 2 elements with non-unique id #_wpnonce: (More info: https://goo.gl/9p2vKq) <input type=”hidden” id=”_wpnonce” name=”_wpnonce” value=”93a8af102f”> <input type=”hidden” id=”_wpnonce” name=”_wpnonce” value=”04cc19ca45″>
    VM252:140 DomDistiller debug level: 0

    Doesn’t look too scary.

    2. I opened an Edge browser (I normally use Chrome) and cleared everything I could find to clear. The problem still happens.

    3. I logged in with a private window in Edge and the problem persisted.

Here is the link to the PasteBin for my Health Check Info:

Thanks again for your assistance. I am very grateful.
