In reply to: [My Calendar - Accessible Event Manager] Duplicates on import? For anyone trying to do the same as me: copy a lot of My Calendar events from one site to another, it may be helpful if I write up my experience. For a start, the Events API route in Settings/General/Advanced led to nothing. I may have misinterpreted how it was supposed to work, but the link led to a mass of code that crashed the text editor I tried to load it into. If I had had 20 or so events to reproduce I would have done it manually, but there were so many that finding some means to export/import seemed preferable.
In the end I simply copied the My Calendar plugin folder via the web host’s file manager and copied all the My Calendar-related database tables via phpMyAdmin, replacing the existing folder and tables. So far this is holding good, though it is not something I’d want to do every day.

In reply to: [My Calendar - Accessible Event Manager] Duplicates on import? Thanks again Joe. Sorry, I have been tripping over myself in this thread. The export/import question I asked at the beginning referred to the Events API in Settings/General/Advanced. I assumed that this produced code that could saved into a json file that could then be imported into a separate installation of My Calendar. (Export settings was a red herring.) Does that make sense of my initial question? Thanks for the heads-up on v3.7.

In reply to: [My Calendar - Accessible Event Manager] Duplicates on import? The beauty of not replying too quickly to forum questions is that posters tend to answer their own questions. I see now that Copy merely duplicates the event and opens it in a new edit window. I see too that with Pro it should be possible to publish to another site using the REST API, but this begs another question: given that events on one site (server) are synced with events on another (client), is it possible to reverse the server/client status between sites without messing up events? Or put another way, if a client site is disconnected from the server, does it lose previously published events or do they remain?
Thanks

In reply to: [My Calendar - Accessible Event Manager] Duplicates on import?OK, I had mistakenly assumed that exporting settings included events but I see now that this is not so. Is export of events not available in Pro either? I see that import (in various formats) is.
I see that in the event listing, Copy is an available action. But where is it possible to paste an event?
In answer to your question, about 65 events and counting.

In reply to: [My Calendar - Accessible Event Manager] Delete Date…does notThanks Joe, I completely missed the admin notice, and it was not clear to me whether I would be deleting one date or a series. All clear now.

In reply to: [Compliance by Hu-manity.co] Revoke Consent code not working in SafariTo answer my own question: the difference is that I was logged in on Safari but not in the others. It works fine if I am not logged in, provided pop-up windows are not disabled.
I had this issue too recently: in the Event Edit page for a recurring event only one month’s events would show. But then for another event they showed fine. Maybe connected with the recurring pattern?
Thank you for the super-speedy response Bruce. I’m not complaining about anything unexpected in FileBird, just seeing whether I can find an answer to a specific problem.
I have just set up FB (free version so far, though I expect to upgrade), and am going through all the media files on my site, filing and deleting as I go. I often find myself scrolled down in a window of (say) uncategorized items when I spot a bunch I want to add to a folder or delete, but I cannot select more than one, and by the time I have scrolled up to the toolbar to hit Bulk Select I have lost track of them. Conversely I may be in Bulk Select mode and wanting to select a single item to see details, but by the time…The solution to this problem would be a quick keyboard toggle for Bulk Select/Cancel.
Thanks Jo, that fixed it, though I had to tweak the code slightly to:
.calendar {background-color: #faf4eb !important; }I am finding My Calendar a massive improvement on my previous plugin. Your support is a significant element in that.

Let me know if you’d prefer me to open a new topic, but I have a related question about the same page: I am trying to standardise the background of all elements to be the same as the page colour (which is faf4eb).
This screenshot shows the current state of play. I cannot see how to target the backgrounds of the two areas still white: behind the title and the strip along the bottom of the grid. Do I need to add color variables, and if so what should they be called? I have tried –calendar-heading-bg.
Confirm resolved Joe. It was either a caching issue or there was some custom CSS in the theme file left over from a previous events plugin that was interfering. Either way now works fine, apologies for bothering you.
Thanks Joe. I believe I am on the track of the solution but I have not had a chance fully to test it yet. I will report back as soon as possible either to let you know it is resolved or to explain the problem more clearly.
If you cannot delete the link can you delete the topic? I asked because I have received spam addressed to an email taken from the linked site.
Please could my link above be removed?
I suspect that the issue is embedded in my theme file, and I need to chase it down myself before any useful discussion could ensue. Thanks.
Thanks Dave,
I’ll try that and report back if I have any issues
