That ini file is for Ionics Isapi Rewrite Filter, which is a 3rd party tool for IIS. The workaround in that thread is to disable permalinks for event manager as a whole, which I definitely do not want to do.
IIS vs Apache rewrite rules are pretty compatible, but not 100%. I’ve seen it before with other PHP applications. I bet the IIS logs will hold more detail, however won’t have the time for a few weeks to take a real look. I’d suggest this issue is due to a portion of code in EM being written with an Apache rewrite dependance.
Thanks for digging up that thread for me though 🙂
Yep, default permalinks it works fine. Anything other than the default permalink with Event Archives disabled causes a 404.
WordPress 4.0
Events Manager 5.5.3.1This is running on Windows 2012, IIS 8 & PHP 5.4 using the native IIS rewrite module.
P.S – Thanks for your help Angelo 🙂
Appears to be a combination of permalinks and EM archives being disabled. Doesn’t appear to matter what permalink structure I have, as soon as it is anything other than default the events feed page returns a 404 if archiving is disabled.
I actually did this on my test site in the end. I dropped the database and recreated the site from scratch. Events Manager the only plugin activated, same result with 2012 & 2014 themes. Only other things I changed were permalink structure and the default front page. Will test setting them back to defaults now.
Looks as though this might be a bug as I can reproduce it in my test and prod environments.
From the “Pages” tab under EM settings, if I set “Enable Archives?” to no, then my RSS feed disappears. When I re-enable it, the RSS feed is back.
Anyone else able to replicate this?
Yeah, seems I am lucky like that. I have placed the [events_rss_url] shortcode at the bottom of the events list formatting so I know I am trying to access the correct URL. As follows;
and
http://test.cyfo.info/events/feed/
RSS options in Events Manager are defaults. Really hoping an extra set of eyes can see where I’ve gone wrong.
Hi Jean,
I’m still having this issue. Did you get my email OK? I haven’t seen anyone login using the credentials I created for you, so please let me know if there are any issues.
