No we localise our single installation using WPML, with a domain per language. Is there documentation to use the api to localise subscribe2 using WPML or any other way of doing this?

Ok I think the only way round this is to add bilingual text to the email template.

The plugin was activated before the translation file was added.

If the template is over-written then there will still only be one language.
The string for the confirmation is hardcoded and is not pulling through the translations ie:
{BLOGNAME} has received a request to {ACTION} for this email address. To complete your request please click on the link below:
The ACTION string comes through in the alternative language but the rest of the email template is hardcoded in English.
