Yikes. I’m not sure what is going on but translator plug is not working again.
Here is the deal. When you sent me the notice to update the plugin I was on a computer that runs Firefox – it worked of course. I looked at it in the IE9 replicator and it seemed to fix the navigation bar issue.
I sent to my customer to view and it worked for her – last week.Not sure what has changed but when I tried looking at the site from home using Chrome – the navigation is all messed up (SEE SCREENSHOTS)
I called my client and she is now not seeing it correctly either using IE9.
The only other plugin I ACTIVATED was BAW Multipass for Protected Pages
But on the phone with my client I DEACTIVATED it and that did not cure the issue seen in screenshots.Not sure WHY it worked for her last time and now it does not.
Any clue?
http://www.ng-sandbox.com/excargo2
http://ng-sandbox.com/excargo2/lightweight-equipment/ for an example where the plugin is in the side bar to read in Spanish.
See screen captures here:
This is with Translator ON
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qyw11594otfcl76/chrome.jpghttps://www.dropbox.com/s/6g8938nzbhhxqr9/chrome2.jpg
What is happening is the site looks correct for a second or two but when the plugin kicks in the sidebar and displays the pull down for English or Spanish the navigation goes bad and shows like the screenshots.
Now in my version of Chrome
see screen shot

This is with and without the plugin ACTIVATED.
Also the only thing different that I added since the approval where my customer saw it correctly on IE9 was the Twitter Feeds at the bottom of the website – I took those out of the widgets area and both her and I still had the issue with the Translator Plugin.
This is the strangest thing.
What could have happened?Please send me an email and I can send you my phone number if non of this makes sense!

In reply to: [Translate WordPress - Google Language Translator] IE 8 and IE 9 Compatible?Great news!
She has reported that the issue has gone away!
What ever you did worked and the brown bar navigation plays well with the plugin!I sure appreciate your dedication to fixing this.
In widgets I found the module called: Google Language Translator
It gives this error: There are no options for this widget.Instruction are to: Go to Settings > Google Language Translator to configure this widget.
I have done so, but it still does not accept that in the widgets area.
I was able to put the language translator in the sidebar by using the Text Widget and using the shortcode.
I’m I doing something wrong when trying to use the Widget Module that is part of the Plugin?
See site here for sidebar location for Spanish option:

Thanks!

In reply to: [Translate WordPress - Google Language Translator] IE 8 and IE 9 Compatible?Wow – I am really impressed with your desire to fix this issue for me.
I’ve tested it using this site: http://netrenderer.com/index.php
And I think you have fixed it.
The new temp url is http://ng-sandbox.com/excargo2/
I have a phone call into my customer to have her look at the site using her browser to see if it blew away the brown navigation bar that was happening previously.
Once she tests it and replies to me I will return to let you know the status.
I do appreciate all your help!

In reply to: [Translate WordPress - Google Language Translator] IE 8 and IE 9 Compatible?I have never been to her office – she claims (not sure if it’s true) everyone in her office was also seeing it wrong on IE9 that she asked to view it.
Once Avada told me to go through each Plugin to see if that was the issue I did that with her – when I turned off Translator – the problem went away for her.
Here is the custom CSS that is making up that brown nav bar background.
Actually here is the CSS for the top GREEN and main BROWN bars
#wrapper .header-social {
background-color: #5B8F22 !important;
}#small-nav { background-color: #60542B !important; }
#small-nav {
background-color: #60542B !important;
}
Is it possible this CSS is conflicting with something?
That is what is so strange about this conflict.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Translate WordPress - Google Language Translator] IE 8 and IE 9 Compatible?My client is using Windows 8, Browser IE9
When she views http://www.ng-sandbox.com/excargo she does not see the brown navigation bar when the Translation plugin is ON.
I deactivate Translation and she refreshes she can see the correct design.Ignore /excargo2 – this is where I updated the theme Avada and turned off Translation and have been doing more design work. There are a bunch of changes there from /excargo.
/excargo still has the Translation plugin on, this is where you can see the navigation bar showing white or clear instead of brown in IE9
At least this is how my client sees it as well as when I view in a IE replicator online.Not sure if this answers your questions.

In reply to: [Translate WordPress - Google Language Translator] IE 8 and IE 9 Compatible?http://www.ng-sandbox.com/excargo2 – translator off – Navigation works in IE9
http://www.ng-sandbox.com/excargo – translator ON – Navigation fails in IE9

In reply to: [Translate WordPress - Google Language Translator] IE 8 and IE 9 Compatible?Here is the deal – I cloned the site and put excargo2 on a different server space and upgraded the Avada Theme to see if the update would fix it.
On that set up http://www.ng-sandbox.com/excargo2 I turned off the translation plugin.
The navigation there works when Translator is off in IE9You can see it on the original site where she was seeing the navigation fail due to the Translation plugin, using IE9
See it here: http://www.ng-sandbox.com/excargo
Does this make sense?

In reply to: [Translate WordPress - Google Language Translator] IE 8 and IE 9 Compatible?Wow! I’m impressed!
I never thought I’d get a response to this question!
Here is my issue – it is very strange.
IF you visit this site I’m working on:
http://www.ng-sandbox.com/excargo
IF you view it in any browser the MAIN NAVIGATION that is that brown color shows up fine – using the Translate Plugin – BUT if you view it in IE9, IE8, IE7 the navigation shows up white.
Remove the plugin and in IE9 it shows up! STRANGE.
Unfortunately my client uses IE9 and once I installed Translate she could no longer see the navigation bar.
I could sort of test it out using this online tool:
http://netrenderer.com/index.phpThe support over at Avada was very helpful as we went back and forth trying to figure out if it was a caching problem, server side caching problem, plugins, my client dumping her cache, the CSS I put in the custom CSS area to make that nav bar show up the brown color.
Finally I removed all of the plugins and by process of elimination narrowed it down to the Translation plugin.I called my client up and asked her to view site with Plugin and without and the moment she REFRESHED when I turned it off the navigation was correct for her IE9 Browser – Windows 8.
So… something is going on between the Avada Theme and Translation Plugin.
Or could it be fighting with some other plugin I have installed???
I do appreciate your email – I understand this is probably low on your list of things to do and my scenario is kind of rare.
Thanks again
Paul

In reply to: [WP-Table Reloaded] [Plugin: WP-Table Reloaded] Max Number of Rows???Tobias:
Thanks for your quick response.
They also want me to insert a logo in one of the columns (far left) that is a link to the directory member’s website.
They also wanted to put a table that has a link that triggers a pop up ad.
I’m more of a designer and did not know what kind of extra code would be needed to do this – or if it was possible.I wanted to make sure the issue of having 1200 Directory Members was possible using this plug in.
They love the search feature that they could narrow down the searches by the category name.
It’s for a restaurant type company that wants to display a directory of members – all the restaurants in the large city.
So they could type in “Mex…” and it would display all the Mexican Restaurants.
Logo hyperlinked to the restaurant website.Then the idea of having a link that would trigger a pop up ad that that restaurant could sponsor.
As far as the 1200 Member Directory do you think this is something to try and see if the database handles it or are you saying… “This is going to cause problems most likely”??
Let me know b/c they really really like this plug in (I used it for another website in the past) features.
