When you select the shop page with product filter, when the initial page is displayed there’s no default filter so all product are displayed. When you select a model then products are filtered. What I was hoping is that there was a default setting. So if you have 5 categories and can select the default category then when the page is displayed if would automatically filter based on default category.
Not sure this it the best approach but as a work around, I can set a custom link in appearance/menu and update the url parms to filter based on specific model.
