customer place order at store1 for 100 bikes, store1 only has 10 but store2 has 200
so order should be split so that store10 gets order for 10 and store2 gets order for 90

you are absolute right in that the upload form use a product as a virtual product and that the plugin that takes the stl file works on that productso its hidden well away from a customer point but when they click upload and add to basket its still in use
if i get it to work i will mark as resolved

i got a testing/developer account and i need to use the url they gave meyou dont need a real account to test with them, but you need to use a different API url
