Thanks for the plugin suggestion.
Oddly Twitter definitely isn’t using a short URL on posts created by publicize. When I hand post, it’s fine. When I post using Jetpack I get the following (can’t upload a screen so pasting). The text is taken from a tweet and shows the long URL being shown to the user.

I found the snippet in the editor but the permalink text isn’t appearing by the product category in the product detail page.

In reply to: [WP-DBManager] What cron does DBManager use?Hmmm. Using that article I set up a cron job to call the WP cron every 5 mins rather than wait for users to hit the site (though we get 000’s per day).
Other WP cron based plugins are functioning but we don’t see any scheduled backups in dbmanager or get any of the backups via emails.
Manual ones work.
Is there a log files somewhere I can check?

With auto posts you get the Show Image link.
It’s to stop image spam apparently.

Email of auto backups were working, then stopped. Manual backups are emailed over but not autos.
So, Publicize actually replaces the inbuilt WP Cron thing? DOes that mean your servers use a POST to run the submits every x mins?
I haven’t tried a short schedule. Most of ours are 4 hours+ or the next day.

To schedule a post I just change the time and date in the publish settings in the post page in WP and hit Schedule.
We do have a plugin that checks for any missed schedules and posts them, just in case that annoying inbuilt wordpress cron job replacement doesn’t fire off.
We use JM Twitter Cards to allow us to over-ride the twitter card settings for certain pages. We just couldn’t get the jetpack one to use Photo instead of Summary.
Other than that it’s fairly blank.
We’ve tried using SNAP for the social feeds, and that works with a schedule, but the plug in itself seems a bit unreliable and non-scheduled posts take an age to post, so we’d prefer to use Jetpack.

The post itself was scheduled and listed normally. However jetpack didnt post to any of the social sites. They were all ticked in the post itself and I’d put some custom text in the twitter option.

In your snippet of code, is there also a way to include the featured image instead of the first image in the post? All our posts always have a featured image.
