Optimole

Hi,
Yes, it is indeed true that deleting an image from the Media Gallery in WordPress does not automatically delete it from Optimole. This is because the Optimole cloud library is designed to be shared across multiple sites, allowing for a more flexible and unified media management system. This way, an image deleted from one site won’t inadvertently remove it from another site that is also using the same image.
We understand that managing thousands of images across different sites can be challenging. To help with this, there is a custom plugin tweak that can automate this process for you. You can install this tweak as a plugin in WordPress, and it will handle the deletion of images from Optimole when they are deleted from the Media Gallery.
You can find the custom plugin tweak here: Custom Plugin Tweak.
I hope this helps.
Hi there,
The limit is in place to prevent abuse according to our fair usage policy. If you need a higher one, please contact us on optimole.com/contact and we will review your account and site for a higher limit. The limit is compared against the attachments number in your WordPress media library.
I can also look into the performance issues if you can share the tests that you did to compare the performance before/after using Optimole.
Hi there,
We are looking into it, will release a new version shortly.
Hi there,
As we discussed on support channel, according to the usage policy, there is no fixed limit on the number of images you can host, transform, or the traffic you can generate. Optimole is designed to offer unmetered image hosting, transformations, and traffic under normal usage parameters.
However, it’s important to note that while there are no strict limits, Optimole does monitor usage to ensure it aligns with typical website operations and to prevent abuse. If your usage significantly exceeds the norm, you are getting notified.
I hope this clarifies your concerns!
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few points:
- By default, images are not transferred to Optimole, which means you opted in to transfer them. The service can be used effectively without this option. If you choose not to transfer images to Optimole, removing the plugin is as simple as uninstalling it from your site.
- We send several emails when your account nears and exceeds its limit.
- Even if your account is disabled, you can transfer images back from Optimole to your site for 2 more weeks. You choose to transfer them after more than 1 month after deactivation when they were no longer available.
We strive to provide a smooth experience and would love to know how we could have made these points clearer to avoid any frustration. Your feedback is appreciated.
Thank you!
Hi @megb23,
Thank you for your feedback and for trying out our product. We are truly sorry for the experience you were facing. Unfortunately, Optimole requires public access to the images in order to download and optimize them.
Thank you for your understanding.
We do plan to improve this feature in the future. However, it is currently a low priority for our development team, as we are focusing on enhancing our core services first.
We believe that having a free plan is also enough for testing purposes however we acknowledge that the testing tool may not be perfect at the moment. Scraping every image from every website flawlessly is not our core business, but we are committed to making continuous improvements.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Hi,
Can you share more details? This is not too helpful as a review, if you are facing an issue we would be happy to help by opening a support ticket

- We send several emails when your account nears and exceeds its limit. Changes to visit limits were announced a month in advance.

- We do not force users to pay. Each account has a visit limit, and if you exceed this limit, an upgrade is necessary to continue using the service at higher limits.
We strive to provide a smooth experience and would love to know how we could have made these points clearer to avoid any frustration. Your feedback is appreciated.
Thank you!
Hi,
It might be some caching that you are using. Try to clear cache from any caching plugin that you use, Cloudflare or similar and it will disappear. We dont have any mechanism to persist the badge after the plugin removal.
I hope this helps.

Hi Alan,
Yes, you can control the badge position with some CSS. We don’t have settings to change the placement easy from the interface for now.
Hi,
Please review your plugins to check if any of them might be interfering with the image restoration process. Specifically, look for image optimization plugins or similar types of plugins and try deactivating them.
Alternatively, you can use the export functionality to get a zip file of your images and then place them back on your site. For detailed instructions, please refer to this guide: How to export the images from Optimole.
Hi @nazrinn,
We are sorry to hear about this. Can you try the version from here https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/fatal-error-in-new-release/ to see if it fixes the issue? We will roll out a release today aswell.
I was not able to replicate this, might be specific to the environment. I’ve added a potential fix here, please check https://github.com/Codeinwp/optimole-wp/pull/807 and you can install the plugin from here https://verti-artifacts.s3.amazonaws.com/optimole-wp-development-c97cf4c1/optimole-wp.zip
Let me know if this fixes the issue.
