In reply to: [Postie] Postie NOT deleting email after processingHad to deactivate. My customers decided that receiving 100’s of texts instead of just one wasn’t worth the risk. I can no longer test because too much risk of triggering whatever the looping send is. Too complicated to describe. Might not even be your software…
We’re ceasing to offer this service.
Thanks for jumping in to try.

In reply to: [Postie] Postie NOT deleting email after processingUsing Dreamhost & GMail. Postie says “success” for each email going out.
Post SMTP says success. Only clue is that “updated to WordPress 6.7.2” happened the morning that the looping send (every 5 minutes) began that afternoon.

In reply to: [Postie] gMail Connected Users might lose connection on May 30, 2022Our system is down do to the Google force to 2 factor. We use Postie to auto process email arriving in a specific gmail account.
I’ve read a LOT about it, and can’t find a recipie for turning on 2 factor, getting an “app password” and getting Postie to again be able to read email from the gmail account.
Get this error:Connect to Mail Host Postie connection: sockets Postie protocol: imap-ssl Postie server: imap.gmail.com Postie port: 993 Unable to connect. The server said: IMAP - Could not connect to IMAP server imap.gmail.com on port 993. Array ( [0] => A0002 NO [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure) )Would really appreciate a link to instructions on how to make Postie work with 2 Factor & “making an app specific password.”
THANKS!!
Pete AOnly when they save a filled out form. It does NOT happen for me. Just some users.
Thanks!
Pete ASome of my users get the “Invalid nonce…” message. Even the sophisticated ones who can clear cache etc. are not able to get it to stop…even rebooting, going to a second machine, and in one case, both on a mac and a pc.

In reply to: [Smart Forms - when you need more than just a contact form] Email formattingMe too! But wierdly the forms that work as they should (i.e., do not collapse into one paragraph, but remain formatted) still do. Only the ones recently edited collapse into a single paragraph (i.e., lose formatting I’ve added).
I dare not edit the older ones because they, too, may “save w/o formatting.”
Pete AAdded: I did clone an older form (which works as it should) and saved it. Same failure on the clone as with new ones. Everything collapses into one paragraph:
Needs Maintenance Attention – This is sent to Access Property Managers
Building or Grounds: Type of Maintenance
Unit: Unit Number
Telephone: Telephone Number
…
Problem Description: Your Maintenance Request – Describe Your Maintenance Problem BelowIS SENT ON EMAIL LIKE THIS:
Needs Maintenance Attention – This is sent to Access Property Managers Building or Grounds: sample data Unit: sample data Telephone: sample data Resident: sample data Request Date: Problem Description: Your Maintenance Request – Describe Your Maintenance Problem Below
Finally, when I export the form, the HTML LOOKS good, but the email, in google and outlook is collapsed, making it mostly unusable in our application.
Looks like a bug introduced by a recent update?

In reply to: [Smart Forms - when you need more than just a contact form] Resubmit a formI, too, could really use the ability to “preload” a form with data from either the forms received database, or a different one.
Thanks,
Pete AThanks, skop81! Your screenshot is exactly like what I’m seeing.
Makes this essential tool…well, broken. Also confirm, I think! Folder icons are now a single column at left of “window” and the names of the files are cut off. It USED to space the folders to fill the “window” and a cursor touch on the file name would show the whole thing. That is with the shortcode view=”grid”.
With view=”list” you get a centered (not left justified) view of some of the columns of a file descriptor (not the name…it is cut off to the left).
If you right click on an icon, you get an unreadable list of options…big font in small space.
I tried all this in multiple browsers and multiple OS’s/computers.
Making Advanced File Manager, a GREAT product, unusable. And I don’t get to choose which version of WP to use…so have to replace with a splash page like “Advanced File Manager isn’t working until further notice.”

In reply to: Using MS Word to create wordpress postsI run three blogs that are full of figures, links and embedded iframes. ALL of it is done in MS Word 2010 (was on 2007 and it was simple to upgrade). I push one button in MS Word to chose categories, another to upload, another to jump to my blog’s home page (hosted WP). All updates are done in MS Word, and a single button reposts them. All built into MS Word. I’ve tried all sorts of other, ahem, limited software, and nothing holds a candle to the built-in blog capabilities of MS Word IMHO!! There are a LOT of people in the Internet world with raw hatred for anything MS!
But, with a lone exception, I NEVER use the WP built-in editor, an extremely limited tool at best. My biggest problem, and the answer may be simple, is how to keep WP from screwing up the embedded iframe (or javascript) code! That’s it. Otherwise, it is trivial to use MS Word for posting. Here’s a link to one of the posts with an embedded iframe, that I have to go up on the site, use the WP editor, and paste the iframe code.
Any suggestions as to how to get WP to treat embedded HTML as html, and not turn it into text…would be GREATLY appreciated!
TIA
Pete A
