Nevermind. I found my answer. It’s only available in the Full Version. Still, I would like to suggest that you update the plugin’s response, as it’s rather awkward to have to refresh the page everytime I accidentally trip over a Full Version feature.

If your theme requires images be a certain size, you either need to resize them before uploading, get the person who makes the theme to change the standard sizes, or choose a different theme.

WordPress allows you to do this from the Media Library.

    1. In the post/page where you want the image to go, click on the “Add Media” button.

    2. In the Media Library window that opens, click on the image. It will show properties of the image on the right side of the window (gray background). Scroll down to “Attachment Display Settings.”

    3. Under “Attachment Display Settings,” there is a drop-down menu for “Size.” Change it to “Medium” or “Thumbnail”

    4. Click the blue “Insert into Page” button.

And voila, you have a resized version of the image. Hopefully either Medium or Thumbnail size works better for you. If not, there are other ways to be more specific, but it involves either plugins or a little HTML, so let us know if you need more options.

Sorry if this seems redundant, but since you didn’t mention – Have you tried clicking on the “Lost your password?” option on the WordPress login page and entering in the email that you might have used for the account?

If all else fails, passwords can be reset through the MySQL database associated with your WordPress, but that’s a bit more of a technical process, so I just wanted to check before we get into that.

    Hi Sarah,

Looking at the page you provided and the screenshot of the page you’re trying to create, my first idea is that some of the automatically created code may be in the wrong place.

There are a couple of things I’d like to recommend to start addressing this:

    1. First of all, instead of resizing the images in the WordPress interface, I would recommend doing so on your computer, saving the smaller images as a separate file, and then uploading those images to WordPress. There are a number of reasons why this is better for your site, but in this case, it’s one less piece of code getting created by the system that might inadvertently confuse it.

    2. You mentioned that you “manually resized and centered the images.” I don’t know how familiar you are with HTML, but if you click on the “Text” tab (on the upper right side of the content box) of the editor for the page shown in the screenshot, how many times do you see these tags: <center></center>?

What WPyogi said. Get in touch with your hosting company, let them know what the situation is and ask them to remove all access to the FTP on your site.

If you haven’t already, you should also change the password to get into the hosting company’s webpage. If you can’t get in there either, again get in touch and ask them to send a password reset email to the email you first registered with, NOT the email address that’s there now, as the hacker may have changed it to their own. Make sure your new password is complicated and that you have a way to remember it.

Focus on getting the permissions back and secure first, and you’ll be able to get the content back faster.

You mention that you have tried clearing the cache and that you have cookies enabled, but have you tried clearing the cookies (at the very least, particularly the ones for your site)?

It definitely sounds like a cookie issue, but I’d like to get a little more information about what you’ve tried first before focusing on whether it’s an issue with the WordPress install or the computer.

wp-content/plugins is a directory on the FTP server (computer) where your WordPress installation was installed. It sounds like you go through an independent company to manage your website, so I’d like to take a step back and get a little more information on the problem from you before we get into checking the FTP server.

First of all, I’d like to check on what you mean about the plugins being “gone.” If you log into the Dashboard (the system where you can add pages and posts to the site), and click on the “Plugins” menu on the left side, what do you see? Does it list any plugins at all?
