In reply to: Chanfed from localhost to domain name inquiriesThanks, I will check it all again.
Many thanks for the information.
I tried that plugin but just chose ‘links’ and the result was 0 Nothing needed changing. I guess I will choose all options next time tomorrow.
I created the site in a VB on a Linux ubuntu box using apache2. I set up WP with mysql and phpmyadmin in the default way for Linux apache.
I’m sure I gave localhost as the url however I somehow must have given some part of it as the IP number.
The most obvious errors are some of the images in the Gallery I have set up on the Front Page don’t show and the ones that do show instead of linking to their page, link to a 404 with the IP# url.
I do have access to the db in phpmyadmin so would the links show there?
I do appreciate your help.
Edit: I plan on using the dom name url once I complete the site, but it will stay on the apache server it is on now.

I have to leave here now but will investigate it all and post some screen shots tomorrow.

In reply to: LInks to localhost url but not IP#Thank you.
I checked the urls in Settings and they are both localhost/mysite but greyed out so looks lie I could not have changed them if I wanted to, not from there anyway.
I did get that ‘Plug in’ you mentioned and tried it on the links setting only and it came back nothing to change.
Backed up to Dropbox before too 🙂
It is really weird because they are all pages I have created in the same admin and I don’t know why they would have the ‘IP#’ as url and not ‘localhost’ as others do. It’s not as if they are links I have inserted in a page, these are the links to the page.
If I could only get to see a list of every page link, then I would know better of where to change them.
It’s got me beat as I have looked everywhere.
Thanks for the ‘Good luck’ too, looks like I might need it.

In reply to: Can’t get to pages from Home Front page.I have just noticed that the links that work are all ‘localhost/blah’ and those with the local IP# ‘192.168.20.83/blah’ all go to the 404.
Is there a place or list that shows every page, and image and their link address so I can change them all to localhost?
Thanks for the help

In reply to: Can’t get to pages from Home Front page.Thank you for your suggestion.
I already have the basic WP site built and am just now adding content.
I just now only need to know what files to check so I can fix the 404 links to all my pages from the Home Page.
I can get to them from the admin side but not from the front side.

In reply to: 404 when going to another page from HomeThank you, however that didn’t fix anything.
Maybe this will help//

The Front side
I can get to the front page with 192.169.20.83/mysite however some front page images are missing from the Gallery.
When I click to go to a page link, this is the url

The requested URL was not found on this server.
Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) Server at 192.168.20.83 Port 80I notice from other PC’s on the LAN I only see the text of the front page none of the them or images, yet on the PC I work on I do see it all.
——————-
Admin SideI get the Admin login and can log in and see the admin page.
When I click on the left menu I can get to all the links okay.
When I click on pages, they all show on the list and I can get to them from ‘Edit’.When in the page though there is no image showing but the message..

‘The image has an empty alt attribute and then gives the image file name’
In the Permalinks area I see.
In Site Health Info Contstants I see.
ABSPATH /var/www/mysite/ WP_HOME http://localhost/mysite WP_SITEURL http://localhost/mysite WP_CONTENT_DIR /var/www/mysite/wp-content WP_PLUGIN_DIR /var/www/mysite/wp-content/pluginsI am not sure what else to show, but I need help to get to my pages.
Thanks
I finally got it going by changing a few lines in the conf files but whilst I see the home page and admin home page in the box I work on, they show as text with out images in the other boxes on the LAN.
I also cannot link to any other pages without getting a 404.
Any help please?
Thank you.
Unfortunately there was no deg log however I have now added it to the config file foe next time.
I have been following other info and am now able to access phpmyadmin with the user and pwd and check the wp db data. It all seems okay.I am still getting the same 404 with the url 192.168.20.83/mysite which is the exact url that did work. I also tried localhost/mysite.
Not Found The requested URL was not found on this server. Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) Server at 192.168.20.83 Port 80I have checked firewall and it is fine and apache2 has correct permissions.
There is obviously something with the mysql db that is stopping it.
Any more ideas?
I have checked the permissions and they are 755 for the site folders and it seems as far as I could tell my pwd is correct.
How else can I access where the problem may be ?
Many thanks for you help.
I unzipped the error logs(there were 7) and came across this in the last log Jan 1st which was when it stopped. It was repeated a few times.
