Thanks Doug, you put me on the right track The issue was case sensitivity on the columns containing ‘Taxable’ and ‘Visible’ rather than ‘taxable’ and ‘visible’
I got it work it to partially work after i fixed that. I have a lot of items with a comma in the image name so the importer couldnt find the image. I fixed that by putting a \ in front of the comma.
Here is the CSV export of the single product I manually added.

Thanks again for your persistence. I attempted to upload my file to the site you suggested and it failed. (msg below). I tried another CSV file and it worked fine. My file is 300kb so wlel below the minimum, and according to File Explorer it is a CSV file.
