I found a You Tube video that shows how to set up the forum to get the buttons/functions where users can add new topics.
Now there is another problem:
When users press New topic in the forum the page where users can enter comments dos not open. Instead the following message is displayed:
Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.
