I have gathered more details about this issue, which might help identify the cause.
I checked via FTP, and in all 4 affected websites (3 on SiteGround GoGeek and 1 on SiteGround GrowBig), the files inside /wp-content/plugins/gdpr-cookie-compliance/ were last modified on March 14, 2025, around 9:10 AM.
This suggests that the plugin files were overwritten or replaced at that exact time, which coincides across different hosting plans.
There were no updates or restoration processes initiated manually from my side. I also checked SiteGround’s activity logs, and there is no sign of automatic rollback by the hosting provider.
The only common factor is the plugin itself.
Could this be an automated rollback mechanism within the GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin?
Does the plugin have a built-in function that reverts to a previous version under certain conditions (e.g., failed update, version conflict, or license validation issue)?

In reply to: [Rank Math SEO – AI SEO Tools to Dominate SEO Rankings] Security IssueHere https://rankmath.com/changelog/free/ you have copied and pasted the changelog of 1.0.219 into 1.0.220,…
1.0.219 is the one that had a security fix,… Can you confirm if 1.0.219 also has any security flaw? Does 1.0.220 include a security fix or not?
@caseproof As I need to update MemberPress to 1.11.25 because it includes a security fix,… If I still use reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (free) and don’t update to 1.74, will both versions still be compatible? (MemberPress 1.11.25 and reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (free)).
@caseproof Thanks. Can you please tell me if my versions are facing these issues? reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (free) and MemberPress 1.11.20? Or does this only affect the latest versions? And I will find time to make the switch to the new plugin before updating…
@caseproof But since when does it require BestWebSoft’s Pro (paid) plan? Because on your website, you were always talking about the free version. Is this something recent? Can you confirm that the free version will no longer work? I’ve been using the free version for almost 2 years now.
Are my versions facing these issues? reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (free) and MemberPress 1.11.20? Or does this only affect the latest versions?
Also, here, where you were talking about the BestWebSoft plugin, and now you have changed the content of the page: https://memberpress.com/addons/recaptcha-by-bestwebsoft/ the documentation link goes to a wrong page, not to a page with documentation about the new plugin configuration. It would be helpful to include steps on how to deactivate the plugin you were previously recommending and activate the new one. Is it just deactivate + delete? And then install the new one?
@caseproof When I said, ‘Do you mean that the FREE version will no longer be valid?‘ I was referring to the reCAPTCHA by BestWebSoft plugin because you mentioned, ‘We are trying to work with BestWebSoft to ensure full compatibility with their PRO version.‘
And I was asking if you could provide details on what is not functioning between MemberPress and the BestWebSoft plugin.
Also, which version of MemberPress or reCAPTCHA is experiencing issues? I’m currently on reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft 1.73 (the latest version is 1.74), and MemberPress 1.11.20 (the latest version is 1.11.24). With these versions, does it work? Can I update only MemberPress? Or only reCAPTCHA BestWebSoft? Any idea when the issue will be resolved (for BestWebSoft’s FREE or PAID version)? (If my versions are functional, I would prefer to wait a reasonable amount of time, if you intend to ensure full compatibility again).
@elliotvs I’m confused about the “Cloudflare” thing,… because I’m not using Cloudflare,… I only use WordPress + MemberPress,… Does the plugin work for me?
@caseproof Do you mean that the free version will no longer be valid?
Can you provide details on what is not functioning?

Ok thanks, but then, if I already have the page in “Exclude URLs from Caching”, Why the form has the issue when “File based caching” = ON, and not has the issue with “File based caching” = OFF?
Best regards,
Pablo.
Hi!
I turned “File-based caching” OFF, and after several days, I haven’t experienced the issue, and the form is working fine. But when I had it ON, the form was only working for a few hours after clearing the cache (less than a day).
Also, I had the page with the form in the “Exclude URLs” section. Does that exclusion not apply to “File-based caching”?
Can it be something related to nonce numbers?
Any way I can turn “File-based caching” ON but not affect to that page?
Best regards,
Pablo.
I don’t use Minify/Combine features.
I’m having issues with cache on a page with a ConvertPro form. The page is in the Exclude URLs, but from ConvertPro support they have told me to exclude also 5 .js files from being cached. Is it possible with SG Optimizer? Or How Can I do that in Siteground?
Regards.
Regarding “check if indeed this causes an issue, as we haven’t received any reports from clients using ConvertPro about problems with their forms.”. Do you mean with “File-based caching > configure > cleanup interval set to 12 hours” or even with it = 1 week you haven’t heard about any issue with ConvertPro forms?
The problem is that this is a difficult issue to detect,… How Can anyone know if their forms are failing only sometimes?
So, regarding “you may use the cache-control header option applied in your HTML in order to define the max-age for certain pages”, How Can I define the max-age for certain pages? Can I someway define less than 12 hours for the pages that use a ConvertPro form?
Regards.
I’ve read that caching 12 hours doesn’t solve the problem: “You’re bound to face a lifespan issue because they’re on a 12-hour schedule, and your cache might be a 12-hour cache, but not the same 12-hour window.”
Also another caching plugin (wp-rocket) here https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/975-nonces-and-cache-lifespan recommends less than 8 hours “below 12 hours; 10 hours would be a starting point, but you may have gone down to 8 or even less.”
But SG Optimizer doesn’t have an option for less than 12-hours, right?
What do you think?
Ok,
Can you please add to the plugin documentation that checks? It’ll be very useful.
And then we don’t need any code to exclude image URLs on above the fold,…
Regards.
Thanks, is what I was understanding,… but the weird thing here is:
-Before enabling your lazy load, and before excluding any image, so WP native lazy load is working: PageSpeed Insights says in RED that images above the fold shouldn’t be lazyloaded.
-After enabling your lazy load (and still without excluding any image) now PageSpeed Insights shows in GREEN that images above the fold are correctly NOT being lazyloaded (but they have your lazyload class),… so I was asking if your plugin does some extra work to not apply lazy load on above the fold images,… (and all the other images are correctly lazy-loaded).
Regards.
