Thanks a lot for your help.

I have already tried all these things – always with the same result… but your results triggered an idea:

I am doing the experiments locally with Wampserver and indeed – going online, there is no problem anymore with the Hamburger Menu.

So the behaviour’s description has to be:

* The Hamburger menu does not work, if Gutenberg plugin 14.3.0 is run on localhost.

* It works well locally(!) with the built-in Gutenberg of WP 6.1-RC1.
