At http://www.wintotal.de/rss-news-lang/ we use the actual version in our lifesystem. You can see the wrong coding inside the text.
We can simulate the error within all other german wordpress installations.

once again. We are a german blog. In germany the “ß” is letter like a “ss” in other languages. Only this letter is in feed since V3 wrong coded. In your sample there are no “ß”. Use for your test a feed like
http://rss.golem.de/rss.php?feed=RSS1.0
and you will see al “ß” als an asterix.
We set on a new wordpress for tesing, only your plugin:
http://www.dieappelts.de/rss-test/You can see here the same problem. So it is not on our wordpress-installation. With the last v 2.x all works fine.

In reply to: [WP RSS Multi Importer] Umlauts showed wrong in Feed-ExcerptHi, i use the clean_separated.php-Template (lite modified with german placeholders like “source”) and put the feeds with shortcodes inside the template. With the last 2.9x we dont have the problem.
I cant see any “ß” in de Feeds you tested. Take al look at our site http://www.wintotal.de/rss-news-lang/. Any word with an “ß” shows only a question mark. Can you test this at your site?
