In reply to: Why the 'taxonomy-{$taxonomy}.php template page is not loading? Thanks for the tip, Drew, but the ‘hierarchical’ setting doesn’t seem to make any difference.
(On a side note, as far as I understand, ‘tag’ is still a taxonomy so a ‘taxonomy-xyz.php’ should still apply regardless of the hierarchy setting.)
I am also getting this error with version 3.2.1, but it seems it only happens when I compress the archive with Zip. When set it to Tar, the error goes away.
(WP 4.3.1)There is a bug report filed about this on php.net a few years back:
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=50678I find this URL where someone has recommended a solution here:
http://grokbase.com/t/php/php-general/08aqmxtb74/php-keep-the-modification-date-of-a-file-when-archiving-itI hope this issue can be remedied. I like this plugin and prefer it over BackupBuddy, but I’m afraid I will have to switch because this is an issue if (and when) a restore is needed.
Thanks for the clarification. However, there must be an issue somewhere because when I do a zip backup using BackupBuddy, the modification dates of the file will not change. But with BackWPup, they do.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Wot no Restore?Dude, seriously, if you have done any sort of IT work (as you said), what are you complaining about? It takes me about 3 minutes to restore the site manually from the zip package on my local server. When I do it manually, at least I know what I’m doing as opposed to hoping that some “restore” service will mess something up.
1. Unzip the zip file (…Masters degree required!…)
2. Copy the contents up to your site (…that’s a Ph.D. level course…)
3. Execute the SQL file into your DB (…that’s a Ph.D. + 5 years of internship…)
4. Done.WHOA! That’s a hell of a lot of work, man!!! Why do you need a “restore” option for all this no brainer work!?
“So now I have to rip the backwpup backup file apart…”
Right. Because unzipping a file is a c-h-o-r-e …“restore the database, hope that the standard WP_ prefix was used”
Dude, it’s a BACKUP. Whatever prefix you used, that’s the prefix the backup will have.“or else inspect the DB to figure out then go edit all the parts that refer to the old site domain”
Jesus! Sorry, but this is just plain whining about nothing.“Probably half a days work in that alone and only then if it goes smoothly.”
If the 3 steps above takes you half a day, maybe you should consider another job. (…no offense..but seriously…)Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: How do search engines know what pages are on a WP site?Whoa! Well that was a speedy response! Thanks 🙂
Well, to respond, yes I understand that. What I don’t understand is that the html that WP creates does not actually lives on the server. So when I go to (for example) http://www.mysite.com/my-summer-vacation/ there is no actual “my-summer-vacation” html page sitting on the server. Yet google sees it. That’s what I don’t understand, how.
