We’ve just ordered an extra 1.5gig RAM, we’ll see how much that helps. Thanks for the link to WP-cache !

ps: notice that I’m redirecting an old directory ‘mag’ to ‘news’ it’s not just the extension that’s changes.
niziol, thanks for the reply but that has the exact same result as my redirect rules, so people still end up at http://www.domain.com/news/category/?category_name=mag&name=category.php&page=
which returns a 404

In reply to: permalinks and categories just stoppped working ?!The problem has been solved, someone enabled frontpage extensions for my webspace which had the result that my htaccess file had been completely overwritten.
