I installed ultimate tinymce and it still works for me. Can I get you to do the following:
Write down the version you are using.
Try deactivating all plugins but mtgpulse (if possible). If that works add one plug in at a time and see when it breaks.

Have you installed a plugin which changes your default post editor? This needs the default TinyMCE text editor to work.
