In reply to: [Adminimize] problems hiding Admin Bar in WordPress 3.6If you go into Settings>Adminimze, there is a section for “Admin Bar Options – Beta”. If you want to hide the admin bar completely, you can check the deactivate box for every option for Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, etc. That gets rid of the remaining admin bar.
It still shows up on the Adminimize page, but if you click off that, it’s now hidden.

In reply to: [Adminimize] problems hiding Admin Bar in WordPress 3.6Until the plugin author issues a fix, I’ve gotten around this by hiding every element in the “admin bar (beta)” section. That seems to hide it well enough.
Fair enough. I will just instruct our content editors to *always* use the SSL option going forward. Thanks again!

In reply to: WordPress does not detect new updatesAh…yes. That was it. The original developer installed a “Disable WordPress Core Update” and “Disable WordPress Plugin Updates” plugin. I didn’t even think to look for something like that….thanks!

In reply to: WordPress does not detect new updatesThe latest version is 3.3.1 (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/download/), unless I am missing something. We are on 3.1.3.
Google sent us an automated “new software version” notification because our site was set up with Google Webmaster Tools. It’s just an automated process that warns webmasters about their server software being out of date, which is a great service imho – http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/11/new-software-version-notifications-for.html
