In reply to: Am not receiving email notifications of commentsHello,
I have been receiving the same problem as posted multiple times. The specific problem is not receiving notifications when an individual posts a comment. This section used to work and notifications have stopped. I am the author of either posts or blogs on pages and set as admin.First, I am using WordPress 3.5.1 and have checked or verified items such boxes checked to receive notification. The notifications were sent to the email address that is listed in the users area. The notifications stopped working around August 2012. I see similar discussions on this topic such as the comment section is being worked on. Please update me at [email protected] for solutions or specific tips.
Thanks – Peter
“Why don’t you create a new on-domain email address then to use for sending the notifications? ” – Does not work and must be doing something wrong or confused. Clarifications:
A new domain email address was created on my host ipage
A new user was created with admin rights
Logged into the Dashboard using new user
Created a preview test to one person – OK
Created a send email to many including myself and was not received, however states message sent. Thank you in advance. I think this problem requires some dissecting. Many = 10,000+Thanks for the suggestion and will give this a try.
Of course, I have over 10,000 emails on the list that are both valid or invalid and growing. That is why I selected unlimited as a choice. Thus, looking for answers since more work is proceeding. Thanks is advance for the advice.
“Once that is done go to Subscribe2->Settings and where it says “Send Email From:” and there is a drop down list, select the user name of the account you just created.” – My choices are post author, the website name, or my real name. My preferred is the website name.
1. You have an admin level user account on your blog – Yes
2. You have an email address on-domain with your blog – No. The email address on domain is in the settings area. Changing the email address in the user area to the domain will create many emails from blogs and posts. The user name is called admin and is not on the drop down list. Thanks for the quick response.Surprisingly, I am still having this problem, which is not sending emails.
True, my user-admin email address is different than the settings email address. The settings email address is used for admin purposes while the user address is for comments to posts and pages. Since many individuals leave messages, then there exists many emails. Within this week, I released a page and a post and none were sent to even myself or others. This is very frustrating not being able to communicate to members. Specific instructions are welcome and yes I have reviewed the manual.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Subscribe2 not sending emailsWhen I use send email to the number of public subscribers, I receive the message “Message Send,” however, the message is only send to the email posted within the user group such as myself while others do not receive the message.
Hopefully, a solution or contact soon acknowledging the Subscribe2 problem with a software update.

In reply to: Subscribe2 not sending emailsAnother thought,
Of course, Subscribe2 could create a group whereby the list of subscribers can be placed in the group.
Thoughts on solving the problem.

In reply to: Subscribe2 not sending emailsJust a thought,
Has anyone used google groups?
Concept: Place all emails in one group. Then when the email is send to the group, then email should go to all recipients within the group.

In reply to: Subscribe2 not sending emailsGreetings and Hello,
Apparently, this problem is bigger than I imagined.
First, I have the same problem such as unable to send email other than myself. Myself being [ email redacted ]
My WordPress; 3.4.1, and Subscribe2; 8.4, is current.
The setting for email is 0 meaning unlimited.Problem noted: My host and others have email qty limitations such as no. of emails per hour or per day. Currently, there is no blockage on my host; ipage, but uncertain of google. Since, I am sending a large group of emails; >10,000, then some modification is required.
If there exists some method to send and validate the email address in a batch processing mode such as qty/hr then this would be great.
Please help and thanks in advance.

In reply to: Dashboard showing rss fopen() errorsForgot to mention earlier, also seeing connection timed out or dns errors. Thus, difficulty in working with WP when something is not working. Checked with the server and claims no problems on the server end. Suggestions are great!

In reply to: Dashboard showing rss fopen() errorsI am seeing the same problem and running WP 3.2.1
I checked with my server and their end appears fine. I had the server perform tests and I performed ping and a telnet trace.
The other problem is timeout or cannot find server.
This problem RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Could not open handle for fopen() to http://ww.wp.xz.cn/news/feed/ might contribute to the dns server problem. Have installed other suggestion but after the install, the problem; “RSS Error…” is still present. Thus, looking for specific solutions. Thanks
I am getting the same loading error or dns error. Oops, a link must be broken. Sometimes the site works and sometimes the site does not work. Not off to a great start. The error occurs both for IE and Firefox. My domain and host is the same provider. My host cannot find a problem. Surprisingly, prior same issues. Thus, what can I do to correct the dns problem?
