It could be the server config. I’m on NearlyFreeSpeech and they lock a few things down (as do I). Are there any files I should check to make sure they exist?

I’ve disabled Wordfence, installed noop and saved a change to the wp-login behaviour, but same result.

    The site is http://enginautics.com/wp-login.php.

Yep, it’s activated. I removed any caching I had enabled too, but same result. Activate plugins are:

    • Akismet
    • Elegant Builder
    • Google Analytics for WordPress
    • Revision Control
    • SF Move Login
    • Wordfence Security
    • WordPress SEO
    • WP Updates Notifier

UPDATE: Well it works now… apparently my host installed a rewrite application that made it go. The moral of the story is that if you have this problem, get someone else to fix it 🙂

It looked so promising, but all that plug-in seems to do is refresh my main page every second and all the links are still 404’d.

Given that I already had the custom permalink structure, would I have to reset my .htaccess file to something BEFORE updating the structure with the Redirect plugin installed? Because I did everything in the instructions except that my starting structure wasn’t the default.
