Hi Adam,
One thing to test: if you add a regular Text widget or some other built-in widget to your sidebar, does it show for both languages?
Good point! I tested adding a simple page listing widget to the sidebar and it did show up in both language versions. Still no sign of the Featured Jobs widget in the English version though, so it looks like the problem is limited to WP Job Manager and Polylang not playing ball too well together. I’ll reach out to the Polylang suport to get their view of the problem and keep you updated.
Thanks
ThomasHi Adam,
I hope you had great holidays! My Language settings are:
– Default Language French
– URL modifications The language is set from content
– Custom post types JobsAll other options are unchecked.
I hope this gives you some clues
Cheers
ThomasHi Adam,
You can compare the French page, http://test.wirsenmales.com/produits/, where the Featured Jobs widget shows up as expected, and the corresponding English page, http://test.wirsenmales.com/products/, that has the same widget defined, but nothing is displayed at all.
Cheers

In reply to: [WP Job Manager] Jobs not displayingQuick update:
The issue is resolved now. As I suspected the last remaining issue was related to the instantiation of the permalinks and the way WP Job Manager and Polylang work together. The solution was to change the Polylang settings to “language is set from content”, and that did the trick.
Thanks! Thanks for the update. I’ll be looking deeper into my issue today as “D-day” is getting closer.

In reply to: [WP Job Manager] Jobs not displayingMore observations as I’m getting closer to a solution:
– In Polylang Settings, I activated “Custom post types Jobs”
– then WP asks if I want to default the existing jobs to French -> yes
– still no listing shows up
– I create and post a test job offer translation in English
– Shazam! The listing pops up!A remaining issue is that the path from the items in the list is incorrect. It should be […]/fr/poste/[…] but in reality it is […]/fr/job/[…]. I suspect it to be some instantiation issue, where the jobs were created prior to activating the custom post types.

In reply to: [WP Job Manager] Jobs not displayingHi,
some investigation later, it appears that wp job manager and polylang don’t get along too well. The job listing was displayed again when I deactivated polylang, and reactivating polylang made the job listing disappear. Hence my problem: not using polylang is not an option.
I followed the hint here but there are no errors or exceptions in the inspection console.
How can I fix this, or at least work around it?
Thanks
/ThomasHi,
thanks for your response. I checked that the DB charset & collate were the same between the two DB. However, since I’m not a pro in db handling, I’ll have to look closer at the other aspects mentioned in the troubleshooting / common issues section.

In reply to: [WP Job Manager] Jobs not displayingHi Adam,
It’s a great plugin that solves my (customers) requirement. Keep up the good work!
I’ve run into the same trouble as kellydiek.
– 5 jobs are active
– the message in the page with the [jobs] tag isThere are currently no vacancies.
I would be interested in knowing which post you are referring to.
I think I answered your support email a bit earlier
Being bit of a WP noob, I would be interested in knowing how I can investigate this.
Many thanks
ThomasI tried the stunt here, but with no change.
Some brief updates and observations:
– Current charset is utf-8"[...]<meta charset="UTF-8">[...]"– I tried changing the theme (currenly using sydney, and tried the stock 2014 & 2013 as well) and the character display probleme persists.
– phmmyadmin displays the accentuated characters correctly
– I have polylang installed and I see that there is significant content missing alltogether, such as some French pages having lost their content.Being a bit of a WP noob, I don’t really know what way to go. The data in the DB is correct, but it does not get interpreted in the right way. Any ideas?
Thanks
