Hmm, no that seems to be checked in every post. It is also checked by default.
This checkbox is not user specific is it? So that when my client posts it is unchecked, then I post or update with it checked?
EDIT: I posted a test post with it unchecked, but the featured image were broadcasted as expected.
How can the missing featured image be a user specific bug?
