Hello, I’m afraid it doesn’t work like that. Currently, only emails inside the shortcode are protected. However, we have that feature in mind so that it protects every email it can find when rendering a page.
I’ve personally not used Cloudflare’s email encoding. However, the main difference is that you have more flexibility with our plugin. For example, you can display a button, a link or even a simple form. You cannot do that with Cloudflare’s email encoding service.
