Unfortunately, there is no widget area in Purus theme. The right side of the theme is reserved for image captions and if I would add an option for the sidebar than those two things would interfere with each other.

Thanks for the suggestion and nice words about the Purus. It’s actually right thing to do, also in case if the post is without a title. I fixed that in a new version which was approved just now. An update should be available in few minutes.
Everything was fixed in template-parts/meta.php where I added a link around the date and the last thing was to fix a color of the link/date with the CSS.

Main reason is that I want to keep this theme as simple and readable as possible.Of course, if there are more requests like that I will reconsider my decision.

Thanks for the nice words, it means a lot.
The method you manage to make work is also good but is not the same as in the demo.
In the demo, I use another WordPress core method which I find more useful and that’s with “More Tag” button in the editor.
