Thank you very much for this. It has now worked.
I set up the following mappings as you advised
ID – Explanadict
Word – Post Title
Synonyms – Post Tags (Might not work functionally but I can live with it)
Explanation – Post Content.All words imported and tooltips are showing in my frontend. Thanks again.

Could you please give me more details on plugins for bulk imports?
I have tried to use the Ultimate CSV Importer plugin and I am only able to select Explanatory Dictionary as a custom post type for the ID column. I therefore get an error when trying to import as I can’t select a field Type for the other columns (word, synonyms_and_forms, explanation)Forum: Plugins

I have now upgraded to PHP 5.4 and reinstalled the plugin. All working again. Thanks.

Have you found a resolution to this yet?
I reinstalled the plugin about 4 times but it was still not working. I therefore deleted the existing words in MySQL and reinstalled the plugin. However, the following error message now comes up when adding new words “Error while adding the new entry, ← Return to the overview”
