My setup is that I use the EU – GDPR and the Tag Manager option in the Complianz setup wizard.
I had previously used the inspect tool and I have also just installed tagbird for my investigation and the conclusions are the same with respect to the behavior.
From your explanation I understand that it is expected that on disabling a category, the corresponding event cmplz_event_XXX is not immediately fired, but is fired on next pageload (even though the cookie changes immediately). Is this correct?
If that is the case, then I wonder why does my page get automatically refreshed when disabling the marketing category and does not get refreshed when changing the statistics category.
