I have the same problem with a website that I manage – see http://www.seatedtoad.comI cannot open the website to get to the dashboard to download anything. Can you please tell me if I can re-download by FTP?
Is there any way I can disable the plugin by FTP so that I can get the website back?

The 301 redirection plugins don’t seem to be able to cope with redirection of the top level. What I have is example.com/index.html needing to be redirected to example.com/wordpress/index.php.
I have seen one support which says the plugins won’t do this and it has to be done at the server. See…

The problem is that I want to keep some html pages working at the root level as well as a blog on the wordpress level. This must not be unusual, right? But maybe what is unusual is to try to have the ‘home’ page at the wordpress level?

Can anybody say if they have it working? I am using a simple twenty eleven theme and have followed instructions to the letter. The swiffy I am using I have used on regular html website designs so it’s OK, but it just doesn’t appear on WP.
Any ideas welcome – thanks.
