Thanks – Yes there was a additional marker around the short code. Removing those tags fixed the problem.

Thanks but unfortunately this entity / developer is totally unresponsive, I am going to have to start again with another theme.

We are having the same problem! The site has worked fine now for almost a year and it just stopped working over the weekend.
