Jacob i have fixed the issue with this, it was probably because of the thesis theme which seems to have issue with custom loops.

I accidentally discovered/fixed this when i created few custom loops for the blog posts and it was doing the same duplicating the last post.

After i modified the loops to use just the default query_posts loop it was working fine, so i then went to the slider php file and modified the loop there aswell.

Now what i would like to ask you is if you maybe know of another way to do this?
I know it works for now but using the default query might give me conflicts in the future.
