So it turn out the .htaccess file was the culprit.
I deleted the .htaccess file and recreated through the dashboard > setting > permalink.
Everything seem to be working now.

Turn out it was just a user:group issue. Once I changed that everything was working as intended

Hmm I’m fairly new to WordPress, so I’m not entirely sure how to do what you’re suggesting?
