In reply to: [Stop Spammers Classic] Block entire domain?HA! That will teach those pesky, little bastards!
Thank you very much for the quick reply, Keith! Glad to learn that the plugin can block entire domains! Awesome plugin btw; almost 45K spammers blocked in a little over a year… that’s actually pretty insane… 45K; WOW!
Anyway, thanks again and have a good one!
Best,
Ralph

In reply to: [Breadcrumb NavXT] Breadcrumbs for Pages Getting Incorrect HierarchyPlease Note:
Look for theme files calling
bcn_display()re this issue… I initially placedwp_reset_query()within the plugin’s own code, which didn’t fix the issue. Once I found the problematicbcn_display()call within the theme code, callingwp_reset_query()fixed the issue.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Breadcrumb NavXT] Incorrect Hierarchy IssueHi John,
Here’s an update:
Reading the linked topic, I initially thought you meant
wp_reset_query()should be placed within the plugin’s own code. While trying to fix another theme-related issue, I just noticed the theme’s actually callingbcn_display().The fix:
The Pricerr theme has a theme file called: pricerr-special-page-template.php, which is one of the theme files calling
bcn_display(). Placingwp_reset_query()before this call, fixed the issue.I’ll notify the theme’s author about the issue and the easy fix. Plus, I’ll add a post to the linked topic, notifying people to look for theme files calling
bcn_display()(not plugin files). Thanks again for your time and effort!

In reply to: [Breadcrumb NavXT] Incorrect Hierarchy IssueThanks for your reply, John!
I have to correct my assumption: I started using your plugin since 5.2.2 and it seems the issue was already there (I downgraded to 5.2.2 to verify)… I just haven’t noticed it before, because it works perfectly fine on most pages. It seems only archive-like pages are affected by it (e.g. the blog archive).
Here’s some more info that might help you:
Theme: Pricerr by Sitemile
Active Plugins:
Akismet: 3.2
amr shortcode any widget: 3.3
Breadcrumb NavXT: 5.5.2
Contact Form 7: 4.5.1
Google Analytics by MonsterInsights: 5.5.4
Simple Social Icons: 1.0.13
Stop Spammers Spam Control: 6.15
W3 Total Cache: 0.9.5.1
WP-PageNavi: 2.91
Yoast SEO: 3.7.1 (needs update – 3.8)Disabling the following plugins didn’t help:
amr shortcode any widget: 3.3
WP-PageNavi: 2.91
The other plugins don’t come across like possible culprits to me, but I might be mistaking.Removing the widgets from the affected pages didn’t help either.
I noticed the Pricerr demo site shows the same symptons:
http://sitemile.us/pricerr/blog-posts/
http://sitemile.us/pricerr/search-jobs-2/Perhaps the theme’s own post loop code is to blame? Though I’m not sure what to look for re the issue.

In reply to: [Uninstall Yoast SEO] Great ideaThank you very much 🙂
Hi Philipp,
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply!
I have some good news: the Newsletter plugin now supports custom redirect URLs, which enables Analytics goals support.
Though GA goals support would still be a neat feature for PopUp (would add another interesting USP to the Pro version, I think) 🙂
Anyway, I’d like to thank you & Bojan very much, for your time and effort! 🙂
Thanks again guys,
Ralph
Thank you very much, Bojan!
Have a good one,
Ralph
Update:
Since v.3.7.4 you can use a referrer parameter in the shortcode. Please check the following for more info (under “Custom attributes”): http://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/plugins/newsletter/newsletter-documentation/subscription-form-shortcodes
Very awesome that the Newsletter team has added this feature! Thank you very much!
Hi Newsletter Team,
Thank you very much for implementing custom attributes in v3.7.4! I can now go about setting up Analytics goals 🙂
Thanks again,
Ralph
Hey guys,
Is there really not a chance that Philipp shines his light on it? I’m mostly curious to see whether my idea is actually possible. As it involves changing a redirect URL on-the-fly, which might be impossible anyway.
I really hope you guys are willing to help me out, as “Google Analytics goals for popups” has become a quest that just keeps dragging on and on. The WPMU forum thread is dead in the water (and didn’t make me any wiser). And the Newletter plugin author doesn’t respond to a similar thread: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/add-google-analytics-goal-parameters-to-redirect-url
I would really appreciate it if you guys could at least let me know whether my idea can actually work via the PopUp plugin. If yes, then I hope my WPMU feature request will get enough votes to get it implemented at some point. If not, then I’ll know that I have to keep pursuing the Newsletter author and hopefully he’ll come up with something that’s update-proof.
Thank you very much in advance!
Kind regards,
Ralph
Hi Philipp,
Thanks, looks awesome! Will you implement this feature in the Pro version as well? I decided to go Pro a few weeks ago, because I like the exit-intent feature. And your plugin has the most/best condition settings. Many support mobile-only popups, but your plugin is the only one which also supports desktop-only popups 🙂
On the Pro forum, I also posted a feature request re Google Analytics goals. I know this is probably not the correct way, but perhaps you’re willing to shine your light on it (I’m wondering whether it’s actually possible). Here’s what I have in mind:
Track successful form submissions, per popup, via Google Analytics goals. This would allow people to see how each popup performs. For example:
– 1 goal to track successful newsletter signups via a mobile-only popup;
– 1 goal to track successful newsletter signups via a desktop-only popup. For AJAX forms, this would probably require something like this:
https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/events#usingjquery One would then set the proper goal parameters via a popup’s dedicated settings page (the page where the popup content and such are also configured). For non-AJAX forms using the ‘Redirect to form target URL’ setting, I was thinking to somehow have PopUp add custom goal parameters to a form’s target/redirect URL. I’ve described this idea in more detail on the Pro forum:
https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/feature-request-add-analytics-parameter-to-form-redirect-url Though I’m not sure whether PopUp will be able to modify a form’s redirect URL on-the-fly.Anyway, I think a Google Analytics goals feature will be a great addition/USP to the Pro version (no other popup plugin seems to support Analytics goals) 🙂
Thanks again,
Ralph
I figured I might as well test it myself. In case anyone is interested, here is what I found out:
You can not add a referrer parameter to the shortcode. The shortcode does work, but the referrer parameter is simply ignored.
Hope this helps someone.
Best,
Ralph
Hey Bojan,
Did you receive an answer from the plugin author yet? Re having the JS hook load a ‘thank you’ message within the popup itself, instead of redirecting to another page?
If not, then I’ll just leave things as they are and set this thread to solved. Thank you.
Just go to Admin > PopUp > Settings > Load PopUp using > set to “WordPress AJAX” > click “Save All Settings”.
It’s the only way to get the “shown less than” condition working. I think that you, just like me, use a cache plugin. The “Page Footer” method doesn’t seem to work properly, when using a cache plugin (the cookie seems to be ingored).
Hope this helps.
Best,
Ralph
