OK, issue solved. Re-installing didn’t help. In fact, I realized only now that the Customize pages did not work either. Anyway, when I checked the console output again I got suspicious by the very first error message saying “Language code must have format …”. I checked the site language under Settings and it said @@LOCALE@@. I turned it into US English et voilà, everything runs just fine.
I thought you’d be interested to know, although obviously the entire thing had nothing to do with TablePress (a really great plugin, btw).
A thousand thanks for helping!
FrankAll plugins deactivated (except TP, of course) and switched to TwentySeventeen, but the errors remain the same. A screenshot of the console contents (in Vivaldi) can be seen here.
Oh, and by the way: I wish you a nice party and a Happy New Year!
Hi,
Thanks for the incredibly quick reply. I “researched” a bit further. I thought I had checked the error log before without result, but there actually are messages there. The initial one is the one pointed out here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/possible-conflict-with-wp-4-9/. I guess that’s the root cause, but if that’s the case, shouldn’t it be a rather frequently occurring problem (which it apparently is not)?
Regards,
Frank
