I have also tried dozens of sliders and even written my own using js libraries. None of them come close to the power of Smart Slider 2.
MetaSlider is too simple. MetaSlider doesn’t see custom post type variables. MetaSlider doesn’t do dynamic slideshows. MetaSlider recommends that you make two slideshows for browser and mobile instead of utilizing media queries on one slideshow. That’s ludacrous.
MetaSlider forces you to use your own css to do things like gradients, scaling and even font size above 70px. And it’s not true wysiwyg. Not even close.
Smart Slider 2 is, hands down, the most powerful, customizable slider on the market. No other sliders even come close.
We bought MetaSlider premium but replaced it with Smart Slider 2. And no I don’t work for them. I just know quality when I see it. MetaSlider is fast but you pay the price because it’s too lightweight.

I have the pro version and it won’t update when there is a new wp core update. And my dashboard is filled with nags from you. They have no x button to remove them. I’m literally going to have to buy another plugin just to clean up the dashboard.

    Hi,
I realize the plugin continues to work after support expires but most devs still allow updates because if a plugin is compromised we should be able to get the fix. Many infected websites are attacked through security vulnerabilities from plugins that have not been updated. I have a lot of premium plugins that have expired. Yours is literally the only one I can’t update.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick and helpful reply. The issue now is it doesn’t suck up the space above the slider where the thumbs used to be. In other words I have the slider under a sub head – in a browser the slider is about 20px below the sub head. But when it goes to mobile and loses the thumbs there is about 160px between the sub head and the slider. Then the buttons are also way below the slider.
I’m assuming I can fix it using the @media screen and (max-width css but is there another way that won’t require I make the @media screen and (max-width css?

    thanks,

I have the same issue. But I don’t see this option. Is it only available in the premium version?
