In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Copying taxonomy terms to new taxonomyHi David and thanks for the helpful explanation, this is clear now. The process has been great and from what I understand it is better to create a new taxonomy and copy terms from an old taxonomy to it, rather than directly rename an existing taxonomy.
I restored my database and registered the NS styles taxonomy again, checking on the “Copy Term Meta values” which has also loaded the stored ACF field data. The particular custom field I am looking at is an ACF Link field, where there appears to be an issue. I have put screenshots below to describe.

Screenshot 1: The custom field located in a term from Styles, and when the link is clicked goes to the post for it.

Screenshot 2: The edit area for the custom field from Styles.

Screenshot 3: The custom field after the Copy Term definitions process was performed, from NS styles. The link here goes to itself i.e. the NS styles taxonomy term.
Is this a straightforward fix or can I do anything differently.
The MLA Path Mapping Example plugin I’m using is version 1.12.
Thanks David.

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Copying taxonomy terms to new taxonomySounds good (as usual).
With the Styles taxonomy still being available with all terms, does this mean there are duplicates of the terms floating around.
Correct me if I’m wrong but when I went looking around in my database earlier on, I noticed that the terms for a taxonomy are listed separately from the taxonomy and in a giant list with all terms from all taxonomies.
I’m keeping Styles and moving terms into it from another taxonomy, but hypothetically if I was to delete Styles should I delete each of its terms manually before deleting the taxonomy itself, or can I just delete the taxonomy.
Thanks David.

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] List filter on the Assistant screenSunday work can be polarizing. It feels optional, creative, like you’ve got time on your hands. Things can go south though if there become too many obstacles.
This is is great, installed and checked out your work, very easy to access from the screen options area.
This is gonna save me time especially as I’ve got carried away as usual and have too many taxonomies.
I notice the new feature is also present on the edit screen of a media item. Was not going to be limited to the Assistant screen?

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] List filter on the Assistant screenHi David and apologies for the late reply, been forcing slackness on myself over the weekend 🙂
Yes this would be perfect, and I’m inclined to jump for the number 2 option. So you access the alternative taxonomy via the Terms Search popup window and when selected the popup closes and the new taxonomy is showing.
Thanks for looking into this and I’ll await your next info.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Last update conflict with custom fields plugin ACFHi Shameem,
Thanks for your thoughts.
I sent the same info to ACF and am waiting their response.
I wouldn’t know if the Woocommerce or ACF have something problematic in the code, but the update of Woocommerce is what brought the issue, so thought it proper to report it here.
Thanks

In reply to: [WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway] Stripe Tax IntegrationI thought there might be a plugin or integration required for Woocommerce to work with Stripe Tax however in speaking the other day with a Stripe consultant he said if you already use Stripe payment gateway then Stripe tax works without anything further. So I’m a little confused now.
If it makes any difference, the particular payments plugin I’m using is the ‘Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce’.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Automatic Tax Rates understandingDoes WooCommerce Shipping & Tax plugin apply the appropriate tax rates based on the customer’s location. I thought it only calculates tax for your home state, so if I have a customer in another state or country it won’t calculate their correct rate of sales tax.
Since I posted this I have changed to Google Workspace so kindly ignore the above question.
With Google Workspace setup I also encountered problems where at the oAuth consent screen there was a random error that stopped me from saving that section and moving forward. One of the fields had an incorrect entry but it didn’t say which one.
Cheers Kris works great!

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Taxonomy in the Assistant listingSounds awesome David and it will surely be useful.
I manually recreated the terms in the new taxonomy a few weeks ago and that was cakewalk because there were only about 15-20 terms.
Also this new taxonomy is a sort of catch-all and eventually some terms within it will almost certainly need to be taken into another separate taxonomy once my own application has naturally evolved. So your developments here will probably save a lot of time for everyone.
I know this is probably a silly question because you’ve already put the link for ‘How to download & install the current development version of MLA’, but I wanted to double-check step ‘3. Find “Media Library Assistant” and delete it’. So I won’t lose any data as well as settings etc? (the only times I’ve deleted a plugin was when I didn’t want it back anymore ha ha)
Cheers,

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Taxonomy in the Assistant listingWorking through this according to ACF advice now, thanks for your efforts on this – much appreciated.
Also, can terms be transferred from my Att. Tags to my new taxonomy or must deleted/recreated?

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Taxonomy in the Assistant listingHere’s a screenshot of the custom fields metabox where it appears my ACF fields have merged into.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JOpT4_WvZMSG1Bm-725Fi4QEEZgTPWeD/view?usp=drive_link
Clicking ‘Update’ has no effect and I’m not sure if I should delete the fields. The data I have in these particular fields is not important yet.
I will also see if ACF have some information.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Taxonomy in the Assistant listingThanks for your clear and helpful instructions. So in the end I went with ACF to create the taxonomy which I already have.
The new taxonomy appears in the media edit screen and works but unfortunately there has been a unwanted change where all my ACF custom fields have been aggregated together under the ‘Custom fields’ metabox and have lost their functionality.
Is this something you’re familiar with?
The options I selected under “Taxonomy Support” are identical as for Att. Tags.

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Field mapping from IPTC CoreThanks for your quick reply and assistance with this.
It seems from some reading up XMP is more modern but nonetheless I will stick with my workflow and use JPEG files with IPTC metadata. The main reason I want metadata is so search engines pick up on it within the file itself.
Also with IPTC “Core” (which my version of Adobe Bridge has) as far as I can tell allows me to easily transfer/convert all my files’ IPTC metadata to XMP at some point in the future.
