Strange indeed, thanks for sharing the screenshots.

    My Web Stories settings page:

The settings page is missing the dropdown and there’s this notice under Google Analytics “Use Site Kit by Google to easily activate Google Analytics …”, but I use Site Kit and its configured:

I use Web Stories a really long time (since 2020) , maybe over the years some setting didn’t get migrated … I don’t know, I’m just speculating.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at web_stories_ga_tracking_handler next week

Thanks for the quick reply, @swissspidy.

Interestingly, I don’t have the dropdown on the Web Stories settings page.

There is an input field at the top of the page and the placeholder says: “Enter your Google Measurement ID”. This is where I enter the measurement ID, which is different from the one configured through Site Kit.

Site Kit is connected to the same Analytics account, but a different property is configured and the “Place Google Analytics code” checkbox is checked.

    I’m using:

    • Site Kit Version 1.149.1
    • Web Stories Version 1.39.0

Thank you for the follow up!

As a side note, we use Cloudflare to cache static assets. We needed to clear CFs cache to serve the updated validation script. It would have worked probably without clearing the cache if the $ver parameter is used when calling the function wp_register_script.

Anyways, thank you very much! 🙂
