Thanks for the tip! My problem finally got resolved by the host. It turned out to be a simple issue of permissions (which I assumed) which was fixed within the control panel. It’s just too bad it took way too long to arrive at that conclusion.

Well, when I called my host, the only solution they had WAS to upgrade to a more professional platform. But, they admitted I’m not at my space limit either, and there’s no particular need to upgrade.
